                                                                   Laws

United Nation itself as one of the most powerful organization in the world have start out their fight in controlling and preventing this child labour. International Labour Organization (ILO) has help to amend and repeal the international law for this child labour issue. Most of the world countries have signed on it and ratified. Almost every world countries have the same aim as the UN and ILO which is to fight and prevent this issue from getting worst. Most world countries have amended their own law for this specific issue. It shows how they are really concern in preventing this matter.

I have quoted few article from UDHR:
UDHR:
1- Articles 3 and 4 which stated about liberty of a person and slavery is one of the initiatives of fighting this child labour issue.

2-Article 5, Article 23 (1),(2) and Article 24 which is about torture, getting equal pay and time to rest.

These kids should have their own freedom and free to go to schools. Learn knowledge. Not become a farmer at a young age.

Child Labour Issue

Ivory Coast the hell for kids.

Well, UNICEF have made a report in 1998 about the Ivory Coast cocoa farmers used enslaved children in the production of cocoa. The news of child slavery and child trafficking were also widespread across the globe (R. Sudarsan & C. Sumana 2001) The USA department have estimated about 15 000 kids were involved in the cocoa production and the Chocolate Manufactures Association have acknowledged about the usage of child slavery in the production. Malian migrants have worked for a long time at Ivory Coast cocoa farm but due to the falling of cocoa price in year 2000, the farmers stop paying the workers. There are few boys which were saved by the Malian Counsel claim of not being paid for nearly five years and would be beaten if they tried to run away.  The kids wore torn and grubby clothes. Lots of scars can be seen on their legs due to machete injuries. They also have to work non-stop for nearly 12 hours. These kids work from six in the morning and ended up their shift late in the evening.

It is really sad looking at these kids working non stop and getting tortured everyday.

                                      Sir Paul McCartney – Freedom

This is my right, a right given by God
To live a free life, to live in freedom

Talking about freedom
I'm talking about freedom
I will fight, for the right
To live in freedom

Anyone, tries to take it away
Will have to answer 'cause this is my right

I'm talking about freedom
I'm talking about freedom
I will fight, for the right
To live in freedom, yeah oh

Talking about freedom
I'm talking about freedom
I will fight, for the right
To live in freedom

Everybody talking about freedom
We're talking about freedom
We will fight, for the right
To live in freedom, oh

Talking about freedom
I'm talking about freedom
I will fight, for the right
To live in freedom

I'm talking about freedom
I'm talking about freedom
We will fight, for the right
To live in freedom

Comment:
This song sang by Sir Paul McCartney was a tribute for the victims of 9/11 incidents. But I choose this song because it lyrics were talking about freedom. Freedom is one of the human rights. Everyone should have their own freedom and it is stated in the Universal Declaration of Human Right. Most of the countries even included about freedom in their Fundamental Liberties section in their country Federal Constitution. We can see it in the verse of the song such as:

#“This is my right, a right given by God
To live a free life, to live in freedom”

This verse clearly stated about this “freedom” given by God. God want us to live free and in freedom. People that being made slave should be free as they have their right for freedom which is naturally given by God.

#“Talking about freedom
I'm talking about freedom
I will fight, for the right
To live in freedom”

This next verse clearly stated about fighting for the right in order to live in freedom. We can see that many revolutions in the past and also present happen due to the fighting for freedom. One of the example is Mahatma Gandhi not only fighting for India independence but also the freedom of his citizens.

To conclude, this song clearly stated about fighting for freedom which is one of the human rights. Everyone have their own right for freedom. No one can denied it. It is clearly stated in UDHR and also every countries Federal Constitution. Everyone should be free and not be enslaved or being force to involve in any activities that will surely denied their right for freedom.
